John B. Kelly Elementary School closed Thursday due to mold

The School District of Philadelphia announced that John B. Kelly Elementary School in the city's Germantown section will be closed Thursday due to mold.

According to officials, after heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) issues, traces of mold were found in several classrooms.

An environmental remediation contractor began working to remove the problem at Wednesday and should be finished later tonight.

Kelly staff will report Thursday to the Hill Freedman World Academy located at 1100 Mt. Pleasant Street, 19150 .
