Local teen battling brain cancer gets VIP experience at Shania Twain concert

She's one of Shania Twain's biggest fans. Brianna Disney is fighting brain cancer and she has just one message for the country superstar: "I love you and I always wanted to meet you." On Thursday, she saw her idol in concert and got the VIP experience.

FOX 29'S Chris O'Connell has the story.

"This is the first time she's had a breath of fresh air since May 21st." Brianna Disney left her hospital room at Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children for the first time in weeks. After all, she had to cash in her Christmas gift--tickets to Shania Twain. Her parents, her doctor and her medical team all helped make the trip to the Wells Fargo Center.

After hearing Brianna's story, concert promoter Live Nation gave her the royal treatment. She got tickets to a VIP party, a shopping spree at the merchandise table and a handwritten letter from her idol. Shania even yelled out Brianna's name during the third song at the concert.

"I think that's just a testament of how wonderful of an artist she is and person she is. And everyone was in her corner," Joe McCollum with Live Nation said.

It's her music that helps Brianna through the grueling rehab. It was getting to this concert that gave her the motivation.

"Even when she was exhausted and tired she would just put on the music--stand up and go at it," Dr. Eileen Shieh said.

It was a whirlwind night that almost never happened.

"A week ago, I thought there was no way this is going to happen at all and here she is," her mom, Aimee Disney, said.

The memories of these few hours will be forever.
