Man caught on camera busting into parked cars in Olney

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - Police are investigating a brazen crime caught on camera.

Cops are trying to track him down after he's shown on surveillance video, busting out windows of parked cars!

"It's an invasion. It's an invasion of your privacy," said one resident. And this is the man invading their privacy in the 53000 block of Howard Street overnight.

Seen in a ball cap, Carrying a backpack and scoping the block. Back and forth he walks, returning with a brick or rock and smashing Carlas Gonzalez's car window.

"We're not safe," Carlas Gonzalez said. "This is crazy because we don't have nothing of value in the cars. They do that, and we have to spend money to fix it."

The video shows he keeps walking but returns moments later to knock out the glass. He later comes around again to meet a friend. He then returns a fourth time, trying to knock out the window to the car in front of the first.

He strikes the front side window three times, but can penetrate it. You can see it cracked in this photo.

Then he takes aim at the back side window, striking it six times, before eventually pushing it in and getting into this woman's father's business car.

That was the front window, they were trying to break into that first and they couldn't get in. So they came back, and they paused for a minute, and then came back, and they hit it again. They just kept hitting it, and then it finally cracked and he just pushed it through with his book bag.

The car is owned by Geslin Liberis, who had to get both windows fixed.

The man then returns gets into each car, grabbing what he can but it's not much, some keys and checks in the first car.

In all, 5 cars were hit and neighbors say it's all too common.

Police coming to investigate, and even then, seeing the criminals in action.

"I'm talking to the cops about somebody breaking into a car, and at the same time, the same guy goes up the street right in front of us where you see, and breaks in another car," Gina Gateward told FOX 29.
