Man dies while cooking, starting apartment fire

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Fire officials say an early morning fire in West Philadelphia started when a man cooking in his apartment suddenly died.

The fire broke out shortly after 8am on the third floor of an apartment building in the 200 block of S. 46th Street. Crews got it under control in about ten minutes.

The man's name has not been released and there's no word on the cause of his death.
