Man impaled by deer statue at Eakins Oval after slipping

Police say a man was taken to the hospital after he was impaled by a deer statue on the 2500 block of Spring Garden Street at Eakins Oval.

It happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, the 21-year-old man was climbing on a fence when he slipped and fell on the deer statue. After falling, the left side of the man's body was impaled on the deer statue causing a laceration and bleeding.

He was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
