Man rescues dogs and puppies from his home in flood waters

A Louisiana man braves flood waters to save eight dogs and three puppies.

The man wading through flood waters and using an inflatable bed to transfer all the animals to safety.

The man reportedly leaving his car parked on higher ground overnight in case waters began to rapidly rise.

It's unclear if he was able to find a shelter to stay for the day.

He is just one of one of thousands of people affected by the severe weather in the area.

Governor John Bel Edwards declaring a state of emergency on Friday.

And saying today - flooding has reached record levels in some parts of the state.

More rain is expected worsen conditions throughout the day.

Much of southwest Louisiana is now under a flash flood watch until Sunday.
