NJ Couple Arrested For Stealing From Employer

WTXF - Gustavo A. Gomez, 42 and his wife Donna Gomez, 59, have been charged by Burlington County prosecutors with stealing more than $322,000 in audiovisual equipment from their employer and selling the items on an online auctions site.

Both were charged with Theft by Deception (Second Degree), Computer Criminal Activity (Second Degree) andConspiracy to Commit Theft by Deception (Second Degree).

The 18-month investigation started when the company, which was not mentioned in the release, discovered paperwork irregularities. Later, they found their own items being sold through the auction site. Then, they discovered that the Gomezes had spent eight years modifying documents in order to avoid detection.
