PHOTO: Professor holds student's newborn during class

(WTXF) - New mom and college-student, Sarah Thompson, went viral last month after posting on Facebook a heartwarming photo of her math professor holding her three week old son during class.

In her post, Thompson writes that she started Dr. Josie Ryan's class just one week before giving birth to her son.

"She knew I'd be overwhelmed so literally begged me to bring Isaiah to class and even showed me where the breastfeeding room in the health center was at Lander University" praised Thompson.

According to the Daily Mail, three short weeks after delivering her baby, Thompson returned to class. This picture was taken on her first day back.

Thompson hopes that her post will encourage other working or pregnant women or moms who are students to ask for help.
