Police: Dozens of car windows found smashed near Temple University
NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Temple University police is asking for your help after dozens of car windows were smashed on or near campus early Friday morning.
"I'm just trying to go home. It's Friday. Come to see my car like this. This ruins the whole weekend."
Harshdeep Bhathal wasn't expecting to be scraping away shards of glass after someone smashed the window on his truck while it was parked on Temple University's campus.
"I was just surprised to see that something like this could happen in a campus like this cause my friends always telling me that there's cameras everywhere, security everywhere," he said.
His is one of more than 40 vehicles on and around 10th and Montgomery in North Philadelphia where windows were smashed out. However, in many cases whoever did it did not take any money left lying around.
FOX 29 cameras were there as numerous students dropped the books in favor of tape to cover their broken windows.
Temple University police say the vandalism happened around 4:15 a.m. Friday morning. There's at least three suspects being sought after but the probe is ongoing.
