Power restored at City Hall after unexpected outage
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - City Hall is back open for business and employees will be back at work Tuesday morning.
They got an unexpected early dismissal Monday after power went out. The building was evacuated and workers sent home. People there to do business were left standing outside in the rain. Court was also cancelled for the remainder of the day. One employee describes being caught off guard by the black out.
"First the lights went out then we heard the fire alarms and it was pitch black in the hallways," said Greg Felder who works on the 7th floor.
PECO came out and worked on the problem throughout the afternoon. Power was restored after seven o'clock in the evening. It's unclear if weather played a part in the outage.
