PSPCA's George Bengal laid to rest Friday

George Bengal , the man who led the charge in the fight against animal cruelty in Pennsylvania, received full military honors at his funeral Friday.

Bengal served more than two decades on Philadelphia's Police Force, then launched yet another career in humane law enforcement, becoming the director of the Pennsylvania SPCA's HLE Division.

Bengal passed away last week from mesothelioma.

Governor Tom Wolf tells FOX 29 George Bengal's life and dying wish has moved him, and he's looking forward to working with lawmakers to finally break open state funding for Bengal's beloved humane law enforcement division.
