Third lane reopens on southbound span of Delaware Memorial Bridge

New Castle, Del. (WTXF) The Delaware River and Bay Authority's (DRBA) contractor, Cornell and Company, Inc., has completed the urgent construction work required on the Delaware-bound span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge (DMB). Construction crews were focused on repair work associated with the replacement of a few suspension ropes in close proximity to each other.

As of 7:37 p.m. today (April 21, 2016), a third lane on the southbound span of the DMB was reopened to traffic. The left lane will remain closed for the foreseeable future. Commercial vehicles are restricted to the right two lanes only. The speed limit is set at 50 mph.
