Reports: Coughlin Removes Name From Eagles' HC Consideration

According to reports, Former New York Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin has withdrawn his name from contention in the Eagles's search for a head coach.

The Eagles interviewed Coughlin, the most experienced candidate on their list, Monday. The 69-year-old Coughlin parted ways with the Giants last week. He coached in New York for 12 seasons, a run which included a pair of Super Bowl victories, both over the New England Patriots. As coach of a divisional rival, Coughlin has coached against the Eagles numerous times.

Coughlin has also coached at Boston College, and was the first coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ben McAdoo, Coughlin's offensive coordinator with the Giants last year, also interviewed with the Eagles last week, before being named as the Giants' head coach.

With Coughlin, McAdoo and new Miami Head Coach Adam Gase out of the mix, the Eagles are left with three candidates who have interviewed for the job in Pat Shurmur, Doug Pederson and Duce Staley.
