Over the years, looking to Pennsylvania’s most famous rodent to tell us when we can usher in spring has become a tradition. But, how often is Punxsutawney Phil right?

A cold snap had some Minnesotans getting creative to show just how cold it really was. 

Metro New Orleans has received more snowfall since the start of meteorological winter than many cold-weather cities across the country, including Philadelphia, New York and Anchorage, Alaska.

The city of Philadelphia is conducting its annual count of the homeless population Wednesday night.

Many feel the brutal temperatures are too much burden to want to go outside to do anything fun But, those required to work outside have no choice when the region experiences temperature extremes.

The heaviest snowfall in the Sunshine State occurred around Pensacola, where spotters reported measuring amounts of 5-12 inches through Tuesday evening.

The scene along Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans on Tuesday was surreal. Palm trees swayed in the wind amid falling snow and near-blizzard conditions, with wind gusts exceeding 45 mph.

Record-breaking snow accumulation was reported across the Florida Panhandle and prompted the Florida Highway Patrol to shut down some major roadways by early Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service office in Lake Charles, Louisiana, said the winter storm has been producing blizzard conditions across southeastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana.

Temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to reach the teens with below zero wind chills in the Philadelphia area.

Bright sunshine on Monday won't do much to thaw the icy aftermath of Sunday's snowstorm as temperatures will remain well below freezing. 

A winter storm is on the approach ahead of Sunday's Eagles matchup, with snow beginning around lunchtime and lasting throughout the playoff game.

If you're headed to the Linc for Sunday's playoff game, there will be snow for the start of the game. The snowflakes will get bigger during the game, and it'll be snowing at the end of the game and for the commute home.
