17-year-old Syrian Refugee brings puppy on 500 km journey

Alsan, a 17-year-old Syrian refugee recently fled Damascus for Greece, and brought his puppy along for the ride.

In a video posted to Facebook by the United Nations Refugee Agency, Alsan says that he loves his puppy, named Rose, and couldn't bear to leave him behind.

Alsan wasn't allowed to bring Rose on the journey, but regardless, he created a passport for the dog and walked nearly 500 kilometers with him in arm.

"I love this dog," he said. "I need him."
