2 teens sought in NJ crash that killed bystander at bus stop
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities are seeking two teenagers who fled after the stolen SUV they were in crashed into a bus stop, killing a bystander.
The crash happened Tuesday morning on Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. Authorities say 33-year-old Umar King was waiting for the bus when the SUV jumped the curb.
A 16-year-old boy who was in the SUV was taken to a hospital for treatment, while two others ran from the scene.
Authorities are investigating whether police were following procedures when they were dispatched to pursue the SUV.
