4 juveniles sought in attempted knife point robbery in Wilmington

Delaware State Police are searching for a group of juveniles they say attempted to rob a woman at knife point on Sunday afternoon in Wilmington.

The incident occurred at a Dollar Tree on the 2600 block of Miller Road around 5:30 p.m.

Police say a 56-year-old woman had just left the store when she was approached by four juveniles in front of the store, when one of the suspects approached her with a knife and attempted to start a conversation with her.

The woman they made her way to her car that was parked in the lot, but was followed by the suspects who got into her car with her. Three of the suspects had gotten into the backseat, while the suspect who displayed the knife got into the front passenger seat.

The woman ran from the car, leaving her purse behind. Police say the suspect in the front seat grabbed her purse and all four ran from the car.

The woman ran back towards the store as the suspects fled on foot through the parking lot, dropping the purse when the victim yelled she was going to call the police. The purse was recovered with all of the woman's property still inside.

The woman was not injured during the incident.

The suspects have been described by police as three males between the ages of 12 and 16, and a fourth male between the ages of 8 and 11.
