Beloved dog returned to Philadelphia Eagles Kelee Ringo, mom

A happy ending for Philadelphia Eagle Kelee Ringo, his mom, Tralee Hale-Ringo and their stolen dog, as the beloved Shih Tzu has been returned.

Molly, the dog, was stolen from a Port Richmond Target on October 28th and, miraculously, Molly has been reunited with Hale-Ringo.

The backstory:

Police said Tralee Hale-Ringo walked into the store on October 28th just before 9:30, with her dog walking loose alongside her. When she went to use the restroom, the well-dressed doggie with red highlights ran out of the store, into the parking lot.

In surveillance video just released by police, a small, black Shih Tzu is seen running out of the Target on Castor Avenue in Port Richmond. Moments later, police say a woman, not the dog’s owner, scoops it up, runs to her car with two men and another woman and drives off.

The dog was wearing an AirTag, which police tracked to the 2800 block of Aramingo Avenue. But, without an exact location, police say that’s where the trail goes dry.

In early December, Hale-Ringo spoke with FOX 29’s Dawn Timmeney about how awful the time had been for both she and her son, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Kelee Ringo since the dog was stolen. She pleaded for Molly to be returned and was offering a $1,000 reward.

What we know:

Someone recognized the dog at a Wawa in New Jersey and police were able to get Molly back to Hale-Ringo Monday night.

Hale-Ringo is thrilled and relieved to be reunited with Molly. She says Molly is "…safe and settling in."
