Car crashes into Lawnside community center

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ (WTXF) - A quiet afternoon shattered when a car crashes into a building.

There is a big mess to clean up at the Wayne Bryan Community enter in Lawnside, Camden County.

SkyFOX footage shows the crash scene on the 300 block of Bryant Avenue leaving two people are in the hospital.

There are big questions about what exactly happened here.

Fox 29's Chris O'Connell reported near the scene.

4 senior citizens leaving a senior center were trapped in their car for about 20 minutes after it went crashing into the side entrance area to the Wayne R. Bryant Community Center just shortly before 2p.m. Monday.

You see the wall the entrance into that building was just taken out.

Here is the view from SkyFOX over the scene minutes after this happened. The Lawnside fire chief tells us a woman was driving the car with three male passengers.

At some point, she accelerated across the parking lot and right into the vestibule of one of the 2 buildings here on site. Luckily, no one was inside that building at the time.

Rescue crews had to extricate the driver and passengers out. 3 of the occupants were taken to the hospital. We are told none of the injuries are serious.

A funeral was taking place Monday evening on one side of the building as workers are trying to shore up this wall and begin making repairs.
