Caught on Camera: Christmas Decoration Theft

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) A Grinch tried to steal the Christmas spirit from one local family. The homeowner says a heartless holiday thief made off with a big piece of her Christmas cheer and she's got the surveillance video to prove it.

The incident happened in broad daylight in the city's Lawndale section.

"I just enjoy it. I really do. It's something I look forward to," the homeowner explained.

Shirley, who didn't want her face shown on camera, tells FOX 29 that she caught a man stealing her inflatable Christmas decoration on surveillance camera. She says it happened on Monday afternoon.

According to Shirley, in addition to taking Santa the man also damaged two other inflatable decorations while in the act. A neighbor tried intervene, but sadly, Santa was still taken.

Shirley has filed a police report, but doesn't think she'll see her inflatable Santa again. She won't let it ruin her holiday spirit though.

"The Grinch tried to steal it, but I'm fine," she said.
