Cleanup starting on train track littered with needles, trash

Clean up set to begin on what some people call the Heroin Haven, Monday morning.

It's the stretch of train tracks that run through Kensington and Fairhill, and it's littered with needles and trash.

A Conrail spokesperson says they'll begin clean up at the area known as The Camp, which is an area known to host drug dealers, users, and homeless people.

The cleanup comes after the city and the railway signed a deal where Conrail will clean up the area -- removing needles and repair the fencing.

In exchange, the city will provide police protection and haul the trash.
