Coast Guard rescues man, child, dog from capsized vessel
NEW YORK, N.Y. (WTXF) - Two people and a dog are rescued after their boat capsized off Cedar Beach in New York.
The incident happened around 8:30 Saturday morning when a vessel with an adult, child and dog had capsized near the Fire Island Inlet.
Sector Long Island Sound command center arrived at the scene at 8:45 a.m. to rescue a 47-year-old man, a boy and dog from the water.
Officials say the man and dog were not wearing a life jacket and the child was.
Once rescued, the man and the boy were taken back to the Good Samaritan Hospital where their current conditions are unknown.
The dog was given to the wife of the 47-year-old man.
