Crews rescue man who jumped into Delaware River to evade police

Crews rescued a man who jumped into the Delaware River in an attempt to evade police overnight.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 5200 block of Unruh Avenue in Tacony for a reported burglary.

The 27-year-old man allegedly jumped into the water after fleeing authorities.

Police say the U.S. Coast Guard rescued the man around 4 a.m. He was transported to Jefferson Frankford Hospital in stable condition before police made their arrest.
