Cumberland County College lockdown lifted after 'hostile intruder' alert

Cumberland County College was locked down Thursday morning due to a hostile intruder, according to the school's website. The lockdown has since been lifted and the all-clear has been given.

The school's website posted a notice around 10 a.m. Thursday morning alerting students to secure themselves in a safe location.

The school asked that students remain in a safe place and silence their mobile devices until additional instructions are received.

Cumberland County College officials say they received word from the Vineland Police Department that the hospital neighboring the college received a threat, and the schools went into a lockdown as a precaution.

The lockdown was lifted at 11 a.m. without incident,.

Students not on campus were asked to stay away during the lockdown.
