Funeral held Saturday for 16-year-old killed in South Philadelphia shooting

On Saturday morning, friends, family and community members will gather to mourn the loss of Sal DiNubile.

16-year-old DiNubile, along with 16-year-old Carleer Miller, was shot in the chest in South Philadelphia Tuesday night and died a short time later.

16-year-old Brandon Olivieri surrendered to police Friday evening shortly after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with the shooting deaths.

Police say the shooting took place on the 2300 block of South 12th Street around 8:30 p.m. after an argument between two groups of teens.

DiNubile and Miller were both shot in the chest and taken to Jefferson Hospital where they were pronounced dead a short time later.

DiNubile's viewing took place at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. His funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. at Epiphany Our of Lord Church at 11th and Jackson Street.
