Husband of a Chester County mom killed in car crash speaks out

A Chester County community is coming together to remember the life of a mother taken too soon. She was a star rugby player and West Chester graduate.

Last week, she was tragically killed in a car crash. Police say the driver was distracted on a phone when they ran a red light near I476.

Her husband is speaking out about the beautiful family and life they were sharing before her death.

What we know:

The Chester County community is mourning the loss of 30-year-old Miranda Pugliese after she was killed in a car crash in Marple Township, Delaware County.

"Not a second goes by that I don’t miss her, but I also do feel like the luckiest person in the world to have had her in my life," said her husband, Anthony Pugliese.

Miranda’s family describes her as loving, kind, selfless, with a contagious laugh and smile. She also was a devoted mother of a 3-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy.

Miranda graduated from Coatesville High School before attending West Chester University, becoming a star rugby player.

Husband speaks out:

"She was perfect. She didn’t have any exterior wants or needs," said Pugliese. "She just wanted to be here. She just wanted to be a mom and she wanted to support our kids."

"She was fiercely competitive. She liked to be involved. She just liked being part of the team. She liked that sense of belonging and it was never a doubt at West Chester that she felt like she belonged," he added.

What you can do:

To support her family during this time, the community donated more than $85,000 to a GoFundMe page in her honor. A Meal Train was also started to assist the family with food during this difficult time.
