Local authorities take part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - It's time to get rid of those leftover prescription pills in your medicine cabinet.

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and local authorities are taking part.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you will be able to take unwanted or expired medications at any police precinct or fire department, no questions asked.

Officials say properly disposing of these medications helps cut down on drug abuse and keeps chemicals out of our water.
