New boyfriend wanted for killing man who broke into ex's, kids' home

A man was killed overnight after police say he broke into the West Philadelphia home where his ex-girlfriend and their two children live, and fought with the ex and her new boyfriend. And the deadly shooting happened in front of their two kids.

It happened just after midnight in the 800 block of N. Markoe Street.

Police told FOX 29's Dave Kinchen the call came as a break-in, and the 33-year-old man tried to get inside through a kitchen window, but was pushed out.

That's when he broke in through a second floor window.

According to police, the initial investigation revealed he "physically confronted the female resident and her male friend."

Then, he "was shot by the male during this confrontation," hit in the chest, in a bedroom, in front of the man's son and daughter, both under the age of 16.

The man was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead.

The alleged gunman ran away, but police say they know who he is and are looking for him. They have not released any names.
