Officials say a 12-year-old boy drowned in Sylvan Lake in Burlington County, New Jersey on Thursday.
It happened around 5 p.m. when investigators say he and another child had slipped into the water hours earlier, but the other child was able to get back to safety.
Several police officers, fire personnel and EMS personnel immediately entered the lake in an attempt to locate and rescue the boy with no success.
The boy's body was eventually recovered by members from the NJSP TEAMS Unit around 8 p.m. Thursday, according to officials. There are no suspicions of foul play.
