People fired up after social media photo shows trash on Independence Mall after Clinton rally

FOX 29's Jennaphr Frederick posted a picture Tuesday morning on her Facebook page showing the trash left behind after last night's Hillary Clinton rally on Independence Mall.

Immediately after Jenn posted the picture, comments started pouring in. Already the post has received thousands of shares.

Some commenters wanted to know why people would throw their trash all over the ground in the first place. Some wondered who was supposed to clean up the mess.

Others used the Facebook post as an opportunity to show support, or distaste, for one or both of the Presidential candidates.

Clinton's "Get out the Vote" rally drew thousands of people from all over.

Lines of people wrapped around Old City Philadelphia for much of the evening.

President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Bill and Chelsea Clinton, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi joined Hillary Clinton on stage.

The trash has since been cleaned up and Independence Mall looks spotless again.

We know, trash left behind after huge events is nothing new.

But it had us here at FOX 29 wondering, why can't we all just stop throwing our trash on the ground?

Come on, this is the birthplace of America after all, right?
