Philadelphia Eagles Fans Crowned Most Hated Fan Base in NFL

Ouch! Sports Illustrated has crowned Philadelphia Eagles fans the Most Fan Base in Football.

In an article shared Thursday, Sports Illustrated Staffers named the Most Hated People, Places and things in the NFL.

The article points to key moments in the history of Eagles fandom like the infamous Santa Clause Snowball incident, and the installation of a jail inside of Veteran's stadium.

A 1999 incident where fans were mistakenly assumed to have been booing an injured Michael Irvin while he laid on the field with a career ending neck injury. SI admits this was a misunderstanding as fans were booing Deion Sanders during the injury timeout.

The snippet about Eagles fans ends with this line:

"Every fanbase is unfortunately defined by the minority who do stupid stuff like this, but it seems that Eagles fans are more defined than any other group."

Two other NFC East teams were also represented on this list. The Cowboys mascot, Rowdy, received most hated mascot, while Redskins' Owner Dan Snyder received most hated owner.
