Police: Armed man follows woman into Logan shelter; fires shots

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - Police are investigating an armed robber in the city's Logan section.

This happened on Thursday, June 30,, at 2:30 pm when a 36 year-old woman, went to a Rite Aid Store located at 1334 Windrim Avenue.

As the victim entered the store an unknown male who was standing in front of the Rite Aid attempting to engage her in a conversation and advised the suspect she was not interested.

Once inside the store the suspect began following her as she shopped. After a few minutes inside the store and while walking back to Safe Haven Women's Shelter, she noticed the suspect following her.

After entering the shelter, the suspect stood outside and pulled a handgun from his back right pocket and fired (3) three shots into the shelter from door.

The suspect then fled on foot and was last seen east on Fisher Avenue toward 13th Street. There were no injuries reported during this incident.
