Police investigating apparent attempted cross burning at Center City church

Police are investigating what appears to be a cross burning attempt in Center City Saturday night.

At 9:56 p.m., officers were notified by an unknown male who reported that there was a wooden cross and a full tank of gasoline leaning on the church located at 17 th and Moravian Streets.

Officers responded to the area and found a wooden cross leaning against the rear wall of the First Baptist Church.

Fire crews also responded.

There was no fire or accelerant added to the wooden cross and no injuries were reported.
