Police: Kensington man robbed, shot dead outside home

Philadelphia Police are investigating a robbery and shooting that left a Philadelphia father dead, just a few feet away from his Kensington home.

Police say it was around 10:30 Sunday night when a pair of robbers-- at least one of them armed-- confronted 28-year-old Jhonny Quezada in the alley behind his home on the 5100 block of F Street. According to investigators, the suspects fired several shots, hitting him in the chest, arm and leg. He would later die of his injuries but not before talking to police.

"Now the victim told us that he was robbed and after the victim was shot one of the perpetrators actually took a semi-automatic gun from the victim," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Investigators say the victim's family and young child were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

At the barbershop where the victim worked to support his wife and young son, the eerie silence was broken only by the sound of buzzing razors. Coworkers like Adam Rosareo can hardly believe Quezada is gone.

"He didn't have any enemies or anything. He was a good guy. And that happened at his own house," Rosareo told FOX 29.

Police are hoping to comb though surveillance footage for more information on these suspects. Security cameras at the end of the alley are believed to show two men and a dark colored SUV leaving the scene.
