Police: Man seen near UDel toting toy gun, 'no further threat'

NEWARK, Del. (WTXF) - University of Delaware police have confirmed that the man seen toting a 'rifle' in the area Sunday morning was actually holding a toy gun.

"After receiving the UD Alert, the subject in question contacted the University of Delaware Police Department," police posted. "Officers responded and it was confirmed that the rifle was a toy gun."

Officials say there is no further threat to the community.
