Police Search for Attempted Robbery Suspect
PHILADELPHIA- WTXF - An attempted robbery of a Cobbs Creek laundromat went awry last week when an employee fought off the suspect- with a shot being fired. Now police are looking for the robbery suspect.
The incident took place December 2 at 6:30 a.m. at the King Philly Laundry at 5800 Market Street in Cobbs Creek.
Carol Jones ran for her life when the suspect entered the suspect entered the laundromat waving a gun and demanding money. As the suspect was caught on camera approaching the cash register area, Jones hid behind a row of washing machines.
"I could have been dead," Jones told FOX 29.
The owner told FOX 29 off camera that during the fight with the suspect; the gun went off, just missing the owner and his co-worker. The bullet struck an ATM just a few feet away. The suspect then fled.
Police believe the suspect is a customer at the laundromat and could be from the surrounding neighborhood.

The suspect is described by police as a Black male, mid 50 years-of-age, dark complected, heavy set, full gray beard, bald head, wearing a black puffy jacket, and blue jeans and may go go by the name of Saleem.
