Police search for suspect in Crescentville home invasion, sex assault

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) Philadelphia police say they are investigating a home invasion and sex assault in the city's Crescentville section.

The incident happened shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police, a female says an unknown man forced entry into her home on the 5100 block of Mebus Street, tied up her family and then sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

Police describe the suspect as a man between 25-30 years old, with medium build, dark complex. Police say the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a black mask. The suspect had a silver handgun, according to investigators.

At this time, no arrest has been made. The Special Victims Unit is currently investigating.
