Teacher with breast cancer gets a huge pick-me-up from PS22 kids' chorus

Staten Island, NY--Young singers from Staten Island's PS22 Chorus gave a touching performance for a teacher who recently found out she has cancer.

Adriana Lopez was diagnosed with breast cancer. When her school's popular chorus group found out, they decided to perform Martina McBride's Grammy-nominated cancer survivor anthem "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" in her honor.

"When you feel lost and scared to death, like you can't take one more step, just take my hand, together we can do it -I'm gonna love you through it," the 5th graders sang while waving pink roses at the end.

Lopez broke down during the emotional performance, wiping away tears.

"I want to thank you for this special moment," she said. "It's not easy, but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school."

The PS22 Chorus, which notably paid tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, is known for covering popular songs. The group's YouTube channel is approaching nearly 70 million views.
