Teen delivery drivers struck by stray bullets during drive-by shooting in Fairhill

Two teenage girls were just trying to do their job when they were caught in the crossfire of a shooting that left a man critically injured in Philadelphia's Fairhill neighborhood.

What we know:

A 26-year-old man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the 2800 block of Reese Street around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Just minutes later, two teenage girls arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. They had both been shot in the leg, and are said to be in stable condition.

The girls, ages 16 and 18, were making a DoorDash delivery on the block when they were struck by stray gunfire.

Police believe the shooting was a drive-by, and that the 26-year-old man was the intended target.

By the numbers:

Over 35 shell casings from three separate caliber weapons were found at the scene, leading police to believe that several shooters opened fire from the vehicle.

What we don't know:

The motive for the shooting is still unknown, and police have yet to release any descriptions of possible suspects or the suspected vehicle.

An investigation is underway as police gather evidence from the scene, including surveillance footage.
