Terrific Summer for Tourism in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - With Labor Day Weekend and Summer, quickly winding down- there's some good news for Atlantic City.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce says it's been a terrific summer for tourism. No numbers yet- but hotel stays are up.

They credit the city's push to promote non-gambling activities, including two beach concerts, the new Bass Pro Shop, the expanding Tanger Outlets and The Playground- a new live music venue outside Caesars.

"Changes create opportunity," said Mitch Zitomer from the Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce. "And this is gonna be a tremendous place. It will be at the top of the top once again."

Many funding challenges are still ahead, but officials say good tourism numbers tell them they're heading in the right direction.
