Two adorable boys in Missouri sell lemonade to raise money for police
LEE'S SUMMIT, MO- Two kids in Missouri are raising money for local cops.
Aiden Best and Nathan Perry have been thinking about how to thank the police for a while now.
They spent their Sunday selling lemonade to raise money.
They say Lee's Summit Police deserve a treat.
"I feel like you haven't really seen anybody thanking any of them right now so this is for them," Aiden said.
Aiden says school and church inspired him to do something nice for his local police department.
"They protect us every single one of us and if we didn't have them our world would be apocalypse and it would be rampage all over bad people would be taking over we wouldn't know what to do and if they broke the law we wouldn't know how to stop them," Aiden explained.
His friend Nathan says this 'thank you' is long overdue.
"We felt like the police have done so much for us and they have nothing in return they just did it because it's their job and they deserve a treat because they keep us safe and without them this world would be chaos," Nathan explained.
These two boys know the tricks of the trade when it comes to making a sale.
"If you are just selling lemonade it might not have as many cars but If you are selling lemonades to help thank the police you are going to get a lot more," Nathan said.
After raising 50 bucks, the two picked up boxes of donuts and soda, and even had enough money to buy cinnamon rolls for the fire department.
Finally, after a day of working as lemonade salesmen, he boys efforts paid off.
With donuts in hand the two dropped off their hard earned treats with police.
Sergeant Depue says it feels good to be thanked.
"That's really cool it's always nice to work in a community where not only adults but the kids. Because obviously those kids are the product of good adults who just support their police department and support what we do," Sgt. Depue said.
After delivering those treats the kids got a chance to check out the inside of a patrol car.
