Union workers prepare picket signs ahead of looming SEPTA contract deadline

Members of TWU Local 234 prepared picket signs at their union hall in Philadelphia Friday night ahead of a midnight strike deadline at SEPTA on Monday.

According to a press release, the event occurred at 7:00 p.m. at the TWU Local 234 Union Hall at 500 N. 2 nd Street in Philadelphia.

TWU local 234 represents more than 5,000 workers at SEPTA.

The contract between workers and SEPTA expires at midnight on October 31. According to the press release, after months of ongoing talks they have not reached a settlement.

Union members have voted to go on strike if a new labor agreement is not reached by the deadline.
