Video allegedly shows animal rights group taking puppy from a homeless man

FRANCE - A French animal rights group is causing outrage online after a video surfaced which claims to show members of the group taking a puppy from a homeless man.

The video was posted on Facebook by Nghi Le Duc, and appears to show two individuals grabbing a puppy from a homeless man.

According to Buzzfeed News, Le Duc said that he was "shocked" by the actions of Cause Animale Nord, the animal rights group depicted in the video.

The video has been viewed over 2.5 million times, and a Change.org petition was started to call for an investigation of the group.

Cause Animale Nord posted a photo of the puppy on their Facebook, after the first video was released, claiming that the homeless man used the puppy for begging.

The group also released a video of the puppy happily playing in a yard, offering the animal up for adoption.

Another man Adam Gulmezian posted a video on Facebook of the homeless man, who said that he has papers proving ownership of the puppy.

According to Buzzfeed, cause Animale Nord responded saying that the papers had been "tampered with."

According to French media outlet, La Voix Du Nord a formal investigation has not been opened.
