West Philadelphia neighborhood concerned with drivers speeding

A West Philadelphia neighborhood is concerned with vehicles speeding on their street.

It was the 2 a.m. wakeup call residents on the 900 block of Marco got on Sunday morning. A speeding car drove over a basketball hoop and straight into a home. Luckily, no one was hurt. But it happened 3 weeks after another car hit the home across the street.

The crash did so much damage L&I deemed the house to dangerous to live inside.

Tim Tomlin says he's doing anything to help slow traffic down on his street. He's been calling the city for months to get something done about the speeders.

"I don't want to be sitting in my living room and have to turn over and someone sitting there in the car watching TV with me," he told FOX 29.

The small cut through street is filled with kids but the sharp turn in the middle of the block residents say is where cars go too fast.

Residents say all it would take is a speed bump or two to slow down traffic. But until that happens, parents are keeping a close eye on their kids.
