Woman, 65, arrested after stealing cab, picking up passengers in Germantown

GERMANTOWN (WTXF) - A 65-year-old woman is behind bars after allegedly stealing a cab overnight in Germantown.

Police learned that the victim, a taxi driver, had gotten into a fare-dispute with a customer on her way to Sugarhouse Casino after midnight on Wednesday.

The woman reportedly asked the driver to pull over and proceeded to get into the driver's seat, driving southbound on Broad Street.

Officers spotted the woman driving the stolen cab on the 3900 block of Whitaker Avenue with a 23-year-old woman and her 10-month-old in the backseat.

Police say the suspect picked them up acting as a taxi driver.

The woman is under arrest and will be charged with auto theft.
