Woman arrested after allegedly attempting to abduct 17-year-old girl

A Connecticut woman was arrested after she allegedly attempted to abduct a 17-year-old girl.

The incident occurred on October 5, when the girl was walking to school.

According to police, a driver pulled up and offered her a ride.

The girl was assaulted in the car, but was eventually able to escape the moving vehicle uninjured, police say.

Towanna Randall, 38, of New Haven was arrested Sunday night and charged with sexual assault, unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment.

Randall is being held on $100,000 bond, and is expected to appear in court on October 13.
