Following a springlike respite on Friday the Delaware Valley will return to winter in a big way over the weekend with rain and slushy snow accompanied by freezing cold temperatures. 

Thursday and Friday will be sunny and mild but a storm system is expected to bring rain, snow, and bitter temperatures to the area Saturday.

Conditions will stabilize as the workweek draws to a close before an incoming system of rain and snow spoils the first half of the weekend. 

After temperatures plunged overnight Tuesday, a low-pressure system is bringing rain and snow to parts of the Delaware Valley on Wednesday. 

Parts of the area will be impacted by wet snow and heavy rain on Wednesday morning, making for messy morning conditions that will last until the evening.

Temperatures will plunge overnight in the wake of powerful thunderstorms that brought damaging winds and heavy downpours to the region on Monday.
