8-Year-Old Believed To Be Youngest Person Diagnosed With Rare Breast Cancer

The mother of an 8-year-old girl battling a rare form of breast cancer, says her daughter is the youngest person doctors have come across with this particular diagnosis.

Chrissy Turner has been diagnosed with secretory carcinoma, a type of cancer that affects one in a million people.

Her mother Annette says Chrissy discovered a lump on her chest on her own, and then made her mother aware.

While Chrissy is believed to be the youngest person to receive the diagnosis she is not the first person in her family to battle cancer.

In fact, both of her parents have experienced battles of their own according to FOX 8. Annette reportedly battled cervical cancer, while her father has been battling Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma since 2008.

Chrissy is scheduled to have a mastectomy in December, and the family remains hopeful, according to their GoFundMe page.

In the meantime, medical expenses have piled up for the family, and they were forced to file for bankruptcy back in 2013.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with expenses.
