Activists Demand Girls Basketball Coach Stop Joining in Prayer Circles

(FOX NEWS)- At Indiana's Morristown Elementary School, a common sight before and after sporting events is a prayer circle.

But now activists have reportedly forced a girls' basketball coach to stop joining his team in prayer.

Coach Scott Spahr was photographed standing at center court holding hands and bowing his head alongside his team and the opposing team from Waldron Elementary on Dec. 1.

Soon after that, principals from both schools received an email from the D.C.-based American Humanist Association asserting that Spahr's presence was "a constitutional violation."

The organization said that pregame prayers are OK, but not if the coach joins in.
