National Kidney Walk Kicks Off in Philadelphia

One walk, with thousands of personal stories, and people supporting those who are courageously battling kidney disease.

Every year the National Kidney Foundation hosts the Kidney Walk, to raise money and awareness for kidney disease.

The Kidney walk is the nation's largest fundraiser to fight kidney disease. More than $75,000 people participate annually, and raise over $8 million to help kidney patients and their families.

The Philadelphia Kidney walk kicked off early Sunday morning, with a one mile and 5K options for walkers.

In addition to the Philadelphia walk, another kidney walk took place in Delaware. On October 24, there is a race in Chester County to support the National Kidney Foundation.

From the three events the National Kidney Foundation hopes to raise a combined $700,000.
